First Visit Experience
Before Your Appointment
When you call to make your first appointment the front desk agent will explain how to login to the patient portal. This is where you will complete your registration paperwork. Directions for completing the paperwork are included in the side bar to your left. If you can not complete them online you are welcome to print them out and bring them with you to your first appointment.
On the Day of Your Appointment
On the day of your appointment please bring with you your driver's license (or the license of the adult registering the child) and any primary or secondary insurance card(s). All co-pays or co-insurance are due prior to seeing your clinician. If you are unsure about your benefits, or need help figuring out your co-pay we recommend you inquire by calling the member services number on the back of your insurance card.
Who to Bring
Adults are welcome to come by themselves if they choose. You also can bring a friend or loved one if doing so makes coming easier for you.
Children must be accompanied by their legal guardian for the first appointment. You may ask the therapist to speak alone for a few minutes if there is background information you would like to provide without the child or adolescent present. Children are also welcome to speak to the therapist alone if there is time during the initial appointment.
It is also recommended you fill out a release of information for anyone besides the child's legal guardian(s) who could be bringing them to an appointment so they can make follow up appointments and relay any messages or homework from your clinician.
Couples seeking therapy must present together for the first therapy session and must request an individual session from their therapist if desired. Some therapists who see couples will not see individual members of the couple separately.
Plan Your Next Appointment
Depending on the time of day and day of the week of your appointment you may schedule your follow up either with your therapist or the front desk. You can discuss with your therapist the frequency they feel you would benefit from.
Due to high demand we do not schedule re-occurring appointments. Therefore we recommend you schedule your next appointment before you leave the office, and let us know as soon as possible if your schedule changes.
